News & Events
Taiwan-based makers received export orders totaling US$54.26 billion in July 2022, decreasing 7.8% sequentially and 1.9% on year, according to the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA).
The decrease was attributable to weak demand amid inflation and importers' high inventory levels, MOEA explained.
For IT and communication product lines, export order values for smartphones and graphics cards slipped but those for networking/communication devices and servers grew, MOES said.
For electronic product lines, export order values for IC design and passive components declined but those for wafer foundry services, memories, IC packaging/testing and IC distribution all increased, MOEA noed, adding export order value for display panels shrank sharply.
Taiwan-based makers' overseas production took up 49.4% of the July export order value.
The total export order value of US$393.55 for January-July rose 7.8% on year.
