IC analyzer MA-tek posts 20% revenue growth in 1H20

IC analysis and certification lab Material Analysis Technology (MA-tek) saw its revenue climb 20.2% from a year earlier to NT$1.42 billion (US$48.3 million) in the first half of 2020, and expects stronger growth momentum for revenues and profits in the second half to come from more analysis services with high gross margins, according to the company.

It said it has received more MA orders so far in 2020 than a year earlier as its major client is accelerating the development of advanced processes, and orders for RA (reliability analysis) and FA (failure analysis) services have also surged significantly along with chipmakers developing new 5G, AI and HPC chips solutions.

MA-tek said it has installed new equipment at its lab in Taiwan.

Meanwhile, RA and FA services are also increasingly needed in the process of R&D for new chipsets to assure that diverse chips can work well after being integrated and assembled into modules, and demand for such services has been growing faster amid the proliferation of new chips solutions for 5G and AI applications, the company added.
