Taiwan's CCL maker Iteq will step up its business diversification, with more efforts on developing high-end CCL materials for handset, IC substrate and flexible mmWave antenna applications, in addition to its high-speed/frequency materials used in PCBs for servers, 5G base stations and network devices, according to company sources.
At its recent shareholders meeting, Iteq said it will perform better in shipments for the second half of the year than the first half, with the growth momentum mainly from the upcoming replacement demand for servers adopting Intel's new Whitley processors, and partly from network equipment clients in the US, Europe and even in China likely to ramp up their shipment pull-in strength.
Iteq noted it has delivered to clients for validation its sample ultra-low expansion CCL materials for handset-use HDI and SLP (substrate-like PCB) mainboards, and expects to complete the process later in the second half of the year. The company said it is seeking to join the handset CCL market long dominated by its peer Elite Material.
Iteq also disclosed it has entered cooperation with Japan's Mitsubishi Gas Chemical to develop higher-end CCL materials for IC substrates.
In expanding its presence in the FCCL segment, Iteq said it will develop FCCL materials for both MPI (modified polyimide) and LCP (liquid crystal polymer) mmWave antenna modules.
Iteq hopes to boost its revenue and profit performance in the future through the upcoming improvements in product portfolios.
