COVID-19 cluster infections at Taiwan IC firms put under control

COVID-19 cluster infections among migrant workers at King Yuan Electronics and several other Taiwan-based IC companies' factory sites in Miaoli of northern Taiwan have been brought under control.

With power and water shortages easing and COVID-19 infections gradually contained in Taiwan, the companies have started preparing for the peak season in the second half.

Taiwan's semiconductor companies will also be more responsive in the future when facing such issues as they have prepared measures such as two-team rotation working schedules, water resource management, backup power generators and generation of renewal energy and improving power usage efficiency, said sources from Taiwan's semiconductor industry.
