Renesas Electronics and Tata Elxsi set up Next Generation EV Innovation Center, which opened in January, in Bangalore to develop EV technology, such as battery management systems and motor control units.

 

Reliance forays into EMS business in India

Reliance Strategic Business Ventures, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Reliance Industries, will invest INR16.7 billion (US$220 million) in Sanmina's existing Indian entity (Sanmina SCI India Private Ltd, "SIPL") for electronics manufacturing business and incubating local hardware start-ups.

 

HP begins making laptops in India

According to Times of India, Ketan Patel, managing director of HP India, said HP expanded locally-made products to include laptops, apart from other PC form factors and displays, adding that value addition percentages of various products have risen from 7-10% in the past to 10-50% now.

 

India fabless IC start-up Steradian joins hands with Astra

The Economic Times reported that Steradian announced a partnership with Astra Microwave Products. Astra will provide Steradian manufacturing know-how and help Steradian scale the Intelligent Transportation System vertical.
