Taiwan-based makers received export orders totaling US$54.59 billion in August 2022, increasing 0.6% sequentially and 2.0% on year, according to the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA).
Taiwan-based makers' overseas production took up 47.6% of the total value.
Due to COVID lockdowns in China, the August value of US$11.12 billion for orders from China ans Hong Kong slipped 25.5% on year, MOEA said.
Electronics and IT/communication products were the top two export categories in August, the former generating US$19.04 billion and the latter US$14.27 billion.
The export order value for wafer foundry services, memory, PCBs and IC packaging/testing services increased on year, but decreased for IC design and passive components, MOEA noted.
The export order value for networking/communication devices and servers grew on year while notebooks and graphics cards declined, MOEA indicated.
The total export order value of US$448.14 for January-August rose 7.0% on year.
