Taiwan recorded exports totaling US$39.65 in September 2021, hitting a monthly record for the third consecutive time with growth of 0.3% sequentially and 29.2% year-on-year, while the corresponding imports reached US$33.21 billion, the second highest-ever monthly figure which slipped 8.0% sequentially but rose 40.4% year-on-year, according to the Ministry of Finance (MOF).
Among different categories of Taiwan-made products, electronic components had the largest export value of US$16.581 billion in September, increasing 9.0% on month and 26.8% on year, with ICs taking up 91.1% of the value.
Exports totaled US$117.15 billion and imports US$101.31 billion in third-quarter 2021, growing 30.7% and 42.5% respectively year-on-year. Exports reached US$324.07 billion and imports US$276.39 billion in January-September, rising 30.7% and 33.3% respectively on year.
